Happy Halloween

10/31/2007 by Pete Jalbert R(S)

Halloween is a pretty big holiday on Maui. Driving around the island, you will see Halloween decorations in front of many houses. Halloween fever has even spread down to the beach where Billy's wife Carla was photographing a wedding earlier this week.

The focal point of Maui Halloween is of course the celebration on Front Street in Lahaina. This event traditionally attracts roughly 30,000 participants including Maui locals, tourists and residents of the other Hawaiian islands. It is a pretty bawdy affair known for outrageous costumes that often push the envelope. Earlier in the afternoon, there are more keiki friendly festivities on front street with a kids parade and costume contest. We hope every one has a happy and safe Halloween!
