1031 of the Week-Puamana
This week’s 1031 of the week does not focus on a specific condominium unit or a specific home. Rather, I wanted to take a look at one of West Maui’s more popular vacation rental condos. I recently went to Puamana Beach Park just South of Lahaina for an evening stand up paddle. There were small waves, but the late afternoon and evening skies could not have been much more beautiful. While I was waiting for the sets of waves to come in, I had a nice vantage point looking towards the shore line. Just to the north of the beach park are the Puamana condominiums. I was thinking to myself, you could not find a much better example of ocean and beachfront condominium living in Maui. A number of the condo lanai featured gatherings of people barbecuing and taking in the sunset. Many of the palm trees along the shore line had hammocks strung between them. With views of the sunset, the neighbor islands, the gentle waves and the beautiful Pacific, this is the type of setting that has made Maui such a popular destination.
If you are looking to 1031 into a second home or vacation rental, Puamana is worthy of consideration. The complex is low density with 230 units in 60 one and two story buildings on approximately 30 acres. The aforementioned views are certainly a draw. Other amenities include beautiful grounds, old Hawaii charm, oceanfront pool and proximity to the activities, restaurants and entertainment of Lahaina Town.
