4th of July Festivities

There are some fun events on the calendar this weekend in Maui. Topping the list is the annual Makawao Rodeo. The Rodeo draws draws participants from all over Hawaii and even the mainland. The rodeo is held at Oskie Rice Arena and Rodeo Grounds just up the hill from Makawao town up Olinda Road. One of the highlights of the activities surrounding the rodeo is the Paniolo Parade through the streets of Makawao. The parade starts at 8:45 AM on Saturday morning.

If you are looking to explore Maui County, this might be a good weekend to head over to Lanai. They are hosting their annual Pineapple Festival. The event celebrates the island’s pineapple and ranching heritage with games, food, crafts and musical entertainment. The Pineapple festival is held in Lanai City at Dole Park from 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM on Saturday. It closes with a fireworks display. Maui Residents can come back the same day with a special 10:30 PM ferry service.

If you are looking for fireworks display on Maui, Fireworks will be held over Lahaina Harbor at 8:00 PM on Tuesday. There will be viewing spots all along front street. If you are planning your own fireworks display, be safe! I hope everyone has a great 4th of July Holiday!
