Another High Surf Advisory has been issued for the South Shores of the Hawaiian Islands. This swell started to show up on the Shores of Maui late yesterday and is expected to build throughout the day with its peak coming tonight and Wednesday. Select beaches could expect wave faces with heights of 8-12 feet. There should be some fun wave riding to be had on island. This swell already made its presence known in the Pacific with some extra large surf in French Polynesia. The world championship tour of surfing was gearing up for its annual event at the feared break Teauhopoo. Tow teams from around the world were there to greet the swell including one with Maui’s own Ian Walsh. Surfline has images and words from some of the monster surf that transpired.
