This is shaping up to be a pretty busy weekend on Maui with lots of different events and activities covering a variety of interests.

On the social side, The Maui Arts and Cultural Center will be hosting the Maui Brewers Festival. This is the second year the MACC hosted this event and by all accounts last year was lots of fun. The event features the best of Hawaii’s craft beer as well as selected samplings from the mainland. The event runs from 3:00 to 7:00 tomorrow and features beer, pupus and musical entertainment. Tickets are $45 with VIP tickets coming in at $75.

There is a growing awareness and involvement in the Maui community on issues of sustainability. Sustainability is the focus of an event held tomorrow at the Kihei Charter School called Growing Local. Growing Local starts at 12:00 with a locavore’s pot luck followed by lectures, discussions and more.

For the water enthusiasts, Olu Kai is having their Ho’olaulea event along the North Shore. This celebration of Hawaiian Sports features canoe racing, stand up paddle racing, sailing exhibitions, Hawaiian cultural events and more. The event runs on both Saturday and Sunday.
