At the peak of Maui’s most recent real estate boom, it was difficult for the average home or condo buyer to get into new construction projects. Many of the properties were not released to the general public. Developers were able to sell to existing client lists in short order. Other projects that did offer properties to the general public did so via lottery. The odds of reserving a new home or condo were left to chance.
