Community Amenities

Central Maui offers easy access to services and amenities

Condo living tends to be more convenient. Typically, there is no yard work or exterior upkeep, and some of your utilities are covered through your association fees. Condos in Central Maui tack on another level of convenience. Wailuku and Kahului are home to the island’s big box stores, the largest mall, the airport, the port, most medical facilities, and county, state, and Federal government offices. If you work in any of those businesses or industries, this also means shorter commute times.

Outdoors

Central Maui is closer to places to play

It isn’t all about work though, right? Being close to conveniences means more time to play. Living in a Central Maui condo means convenient access to so many of the island’s outdoor attractions. You have Iao Valley and the West Maui mountains in the immediate vicinity. There are beaches in Wailuku and Kahului for surfing, fishing, outrigger canoeing, kitesurfing, winging, windsurfing, and other water sports. Great beaches in South Maui, West Maui, and the North Shore are all within a half hour drive. There is the Maui Arts and Cultural Center in Kahului and the Iao Theater in Wailuku for arts and entertainment. If you are a life-long learner, there are adult education classes at UH Maui college.

Kahului condos

Two options in convenient locations

Kahului has two condominium complexes, Kahului Ikena and Harbor Lights. Harbor Lights typically has the lowest-priced fee simple condos available on the island. The development has one and two-bedroom floor plans. Kahului Ikena has one-, two-, and three-bedroom floorplans. Both developments are a short distance from the University of Hawaii Maui College, medical facilities, and all of Central Maui’s other conveniences and amenities. Neither of the condos allows vacation rentals. Most owners use condos in these developments as primary residences or long-term rentals.

Wailuku Condos

A broad variety of condo developments at varied price ranges.

Wailuku has over twenty condo developments from which buyers can choose. They vary from apartments in multi-story buildings in downtown Wailuku to luxury townhomes in Kehalani, with a broad range of options in between. Like Kahului, some of the condo complexes offer condos at lower entry points to the market. While the Villas at Kehalani can sell for well over $1,000,000. As with Kahului, none of the condo developments in Wailuku allow short-term rentals. They are geared more towards owner-occupants and long-term rentals.
