There are a few Earth Day events scheduled for this weekend on Maui. The Maui Nui Botanical Gardens in Kahului will be hosting their annual Earth Day celebration tomorrow. This event runs from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM. It includes live musical performances, native plant information and booths from a variety of conservation groups. West Maui will have its own celebration on Saturday from 10:00 AM -3:00 PM at the Farmer’s Market Health Food Store located across from Honokowai Park. This event will also have food and music.
On Sunday, the Earth Day activities come to the North Shore of Maui. There will be an event at Baldwin Beach Park in Paia from 10:00-6:00. Due to permitting issues, this event will feature acoustic music and a vegetarian potluck. There will be no vending or booths available. The party moves up the hill at 6:00 to the Studio Maui in Haiku. Many of the “plugged in performers” who had been scheduled for Baldwin will be performing. Vending and booths that were scheduled will also be relocated to the Studio. The fun runs until 11:00 PM. A donation of between $10-$20 is recommended at the door to help fund future earth day events.
