The event features, chant, hula, musical performances, arts and crafts, food, cultural demonstrations, poi pounding and more. In addition to today’s festivities, there is also a Taro pancake breakfast held at Hana ball park from 7:30 to 10:30 tomorrow, a Kahana Garden tour of their various varieties of Taro and a tour of the Kapahu Living Farm Taro fields. Taro also known as Kalo is a staple of the Hawaiian diet. Poi is one of the more famous byproducts of Taro. This event celebrates the plant and Hawaiian culture. It should be a fun weekend for those in and around Hana!
