Events on Tap for the Weekend

There are some fun events on tap this weekend on Maui including a couple tonight if you are looking for something to do at the last minute.

Wailuku is hosting another First Friday event. On the first Friday of every month, merchants stay open late, musicians and vendors fill the street and a good time is had by all. Head up to Market street now and you may be able to catch the tail end of the event.

The Maui Classical Music Festival is a series of classical music concerts conducted throughout Maui. The event features known and up and coming Classical Musicians. The first of the series starts tonight at 7:00 PM at Makawao Union Church. Tickests are $25 for adults and $10 for students. If you miss tonight’s event, there are also concerts on Monday at the Keawali’i Congregational Church in Makena, Wednesday at the Wananalua Congregational Church in Hana and next Friday back again at the Makawao Union Church.

Tomorrow is the 20th annual Maui Onion Festival at Whalers Village in Ka’anapali. This celebration of the legendary Kula Onion features celebrity chef cooking demonstrations, food sampling, live music and the not to be missed raw onion eating contest. Check out the Onion Festival web page for additional information. If you are thinking of hitting the onion fest and are in the market for a luxury home, you may want to check out our listing at the Summit in Ka’anapali. We have a very motivated seller! Contact us and we will be happy to arrange a showing.

Last but not least if you miss the days of drive-in movies, you still have a chance to see the movies under the stars. MauiFest Hawaii is having another drive-in movie night at Maui Community College in Kahului. There will be live music, food booths and a bunch of Hawaii themed films. Admission is $20 a vehicle.
