The Maui Film Festival will be hosting their First Light Film Festival starting tomorrow night at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center in Kahului. The event brings some of the best films of the year to the island for screenings in the beautiful Castle Theater of the MACC. The first four days of films alone received 24 awards, nominations or top picture of the year recognition through the Golden Globes, Cannes, the Spirit Awards, the National Board of Review and Film Critics. The event kicks off at 5:00 with the film Elegy followed by the critically acclaimed Slumdog Millionaire at 7:30. The First Light Festival runs the 17th-23rd, the 26-30th and January 3rd.
