The holiday season is a great time for movie buffs on Maui. The Maui Film Festival holds its First Light Film Festival to the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. The festival features many of the year’s best films including many that are thought to be contenders for academy awards and the golden globes. The event starts today and runs through January 1. There are at least two films a day with breaks on Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year’s Eve. The highlight of today’s films is The Pursuit of Happyness starring Will Smith. Whether it is Wednesday night films at the MACC, the Maui Film Festival at Wailea or the First Light, the Maui Film Festival does a great job of bringing top movies to Maui.
