We have had a beautiful run of weather over the last few days. Light trade winds, crisp clear skies, warm days and cool nights have been the norm. Last night I woke in the middle of the night and had to pull a blanket off the shelf for the first time since last spring. This morning Halekala and the West Maui mountains were shimmering with few if any clouds gracing the mountain’s summits. Surfers have been enjoying the remnants of early season winter swells along the island’s north shore. Current long range weather forecasts are predicting an El Nino weather pattern for this coming winter. Typically, that means drier conditions and larger surf along the North Shore. It is days like today and yesterday that truly make me feel privileged to live on Maui.
