When I read about the record cold that had been impacting much of the mainland over the last couple of days, I can’t help but to feel lucky that I live on Maui. Today has been a particularly beautiful day. For those on the mainland that are wanting a taste of Maui right about now, I thought you might appreciate this video Billy shot today while standing on the bluff above Ho’okipa surf break along our island’s North Shore.
It is a little tough to get a sense of the scale of the waves in the video, but needless to say they are pretty large. Wave faces are likely in excess of 15 feet on the face. There may be a few sets coming through that are even bigger. We are forecast to have more beautiful weather and big waves over the next few days.
