Tomorrow is International Surfing Day. This event which celebrates the art and sport of surfing is commemorated throughout the world in a variety of events including surf competitions and beach clean ups. On Maui, International Surfing day will be celebrated at Ho’okipa Beach Park just outside of Paia. The local chapter of the Surfrider Foundation will be hosting the event. They have a beach and reef cleanup scheduled between 8:00 and 10:00 AM. From 10:00 to 1:00 PM, they will have free pizza and shave ice. Hana Highway Surf will be offering free surf lessons for keikis. From 1:00 to 2:00 PM, there will be drawings for prizes and an International Surf Day Cake. If you are still in the surfing spirit tomorrow night, Hana Highway Surf will be hosting their 10th anniversary party at Charley’s. They will be showing a surf movie followed by live music.
