The neighborhood is serviced by private water and underground electric. Most properties in the neighborhood have good views of the ocean, West Maui Mountains or Haleakala. Some offer views of all three. Views corridors ensure that the vistas are preserved for the future. The lots are zoned agricultural. That allows for the potential to build a primary residence and a cottage of up to 1,000 square feet. The subdivision has been around for almost 20 years so it is pretty close to built out. Property values in Maunaolu Plantation range from about $1,200,000 to well over $2,000,000.
An Ideal location
Residents who live in the neighborhood tend to really appreciate the location. Makawao and Paia are both less than ten minutes away. Central Maui is very accessible via Haleakala Highway. There are also a number of good private schools within 10-15 minutes of Maunaolu Plantation. The climate in this location is quite nice. This area along Baldwin Avenue has long been known as Sunnyside. It is drier than 95% of Haiku. The added elevation makes it cooler than Paia. The interaction of showers and sun make it a good location for rainbow watching.
