Those of you who drive along Hana Highway near Paia may have noticed some construction under way between the Paia Youth and Cultural Center and Baldwin Beach Park. The county is currently in the process of constructing the third phase of the Maui North Shore Greenway. This bike/walking path will connect Paia town to Baldwin Beach Park. The path is slated for completion sometime in June or early July contingent upon the time frame of nearby sugar cane harvests.
There is already a path that connects the Spreckelsville area to the West of Baldwin to Kanaha Beach Park and the Kahului area. Eventually, there will be final phase of the Greenway that connects the Baldwin portion of the path to the Spreckelsville area. In the interim, the new path will be a great way for Paia residents to head down to Baldwin without having to hop into their car.
