Official August 2009 Maui Real Estate Statistics

Late last week, the Realtors Association of Maui (RAM) posted their official real estate statistics for the month of August. There was only one more sale reported above and beyond what I posted in the unofficial Maui Real Estate stats. The one additional home sale bumped the monthly total to 53 home sales for Maui County. That being said, it is worth taking a gander at the official stats. The numbers include more historical context with sales numbers dating back to 2004. There is also a little more granularity with sales numbers for individual Maui communities. Another area to look at is the total inventory of homes, lands and condos. RAM executive Terry Tolman has been keeping tabs on the total number of properties on the market. Inventory continues to slowly decrease. We will need to continue to see shrinking inventories to help stabilize prices. Last but not least, RAM has included a new report via Na Hale O Maui on distressed properties. This will be an interesting feature to keep an eye on in future RAM statistics. Here is a link to the official August 2009 Maui Real Estate Statistics
