The Pali Makai Estate is a spectacular home listed by Billy Jalbert. Located on the dramatic cliffs of Haiku on Maui’s North Shore, this is a one of a kind home on a special piece of property.

The property is roughly 5.8 acres. Situated on one of the Northernmost points of the North Shore, the ocean views are nothing less than amazing. During the winter time, whales will often play in the bay below the house. I have watched a young humpback breach repeatedly just a hundred or so yards offshore. Papanui O`Kane is a lava rock island located just offshore. During the summer when the north shore waters are more placid, there is good snorkeling around the island. The views of the West Maui Mountains and Haleakala are also quite impressive.
The home’s design draws from Indonesian and other Asian influences.
A private gate restricts access for all but three properties. The grounds are dotted with swaying Coconut Palms while there is lush vegetation in the immediate vicinity of the home. Large carved buddhas and other statues contribute to the properties asian theme. A stamped concrete driveway and Port Cochere make for an impressive entrance. The 3 bedroom/3.5 bath home was designed by acclaimed architect Linda Lange and constructed by Master Craftsman Paul Beagle. The owner and the architect drew heavily from asian and tropical styles when designing the home.
The kitchen of the Pali Makai Estate
Frequent trips to Indonesia were made to bring back both construction materials and finishing touches. An antique Chinese door imported from Indonesia marks the entryway the master bedroom. Antique Indonesian carvings wrap around the hood of the gourmet viking stove. If the owner saw wood or stone carvings that he wanted to incorporate into the home, he would purchase the pieces or commision local artisans to create replicas.
Pass through antique Chinese doors to enter the Master Suite.
Interior building materials are of the highest quality. Exterior building materials were selected both for aesthetics and durability. The end result is a show case home that is completely unique.
