I just wanted to follow up on my last two blog posts. The Wailea 670 public meeting was held on Wednesday with approximately 150 people in attendance. The project received some positive feedback from the general public for its affordable housing component, open space and lower density. That being said, there were also those that had concern about traffic and infrastructure as well as the overall need for any high end development with the lack of affordable housing available. Members of county council indicated that infrastructure and affordable housing will be an important part of future discussions on the project.

The first day of the Mercedes Championship in Kapalua saw beautiful weather and some familiar names near the top of the leader board. Olin Browne is first on the board followed by Vijay Singh, Sergio Garcia, David Toms and Stewart Appleby. The tournament is continuing today and will run until Sunday. Wind is likely to be a factor with strong tradewinds blowing throughout the day.
