Snow on Maui?

While there has been a lot of cold on the mainland and snow as far south as Florida, Maui has had a week of warm and sunny weather. That being said, there will be lots of snow tonight on the big screen at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Warren Miller’s Playground will be playing at the MACC bringing all kinds of skiing and snow boarding action to Maui. While at first glance, it seems a little odd for ski films to be showing in Maui, the mountains are a favorite vacation destination for a lot of island residents. There are also quite a few people who are transplants from the Mountains to Maui. While the climates might be different, mountain transplants find a similar lifestyle with an emphasis on outdoor activities. I can attest to this as a former Colorado resident. I look forward to seeing lots of great ski footage and walking outside after the movie in my shorts and flip flops.
