Price Reduced! 160 Laenani Street in Haiku

Last week, the owners of 160 Laenani Street in Haiku made a price reduction on their beautiful estate property. This listing has a lot to offer with a spacious and airy three bedroom, two and a half bath home and a cute one bedroom cottage. The kitchen and living areas have vaulted ceilings and sky lights. The kitchen includes granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. The owners built a substantial addition that included a dramatic sunken living room and quite a bit more covered lanai space. The expansive covered lanai area is ideal for indoor/outdoor living and is a great place to watch the sunset with family and friends. Other nice touches include hardwood floors and a lot of built in book shelves. Practical design features include a fully fenced yard, hardie plank siding and low maintenance windows. The one bedroom cottage is ideal for out of town guests or extended family.

The ocean views offered from the home are beautiful as are the gulch views. Gulch may not quite convey the grandeur of what lies beyond the fence of this property. The home is situated in a convenient Western Haiku location. The area offers quiet countryside, but you are still accessible to a variety of conveniences and amenities. It is five minutes or less down the hill to reach the Haiku Cannery and Haiku Town Center. There you can find a grocery store, Upcountry Fitness and multiple restaurants including local favorites Colleens, Veg Out and Nuka. Makawao Town is approximately five minutes up the hill. There you can find more good restaurants, shops, galleries, yoga, massage and other wellness oriented businesses. Ho’okipa Beach Park is approximately ten minutes away. It attracts surfers, windsurfers and kitesurfers from all over the world. Paia town is within fifteen minutes for even more dining options, galleries and restaurants. For those that are interested in schooling options, you are within a short drive of a variety of public and private school options including Montessori, The Roots School and Seabury Hall.

This beautiful Haiku Estate property is now offered for $1,825,000. Check out the 160 Laenani Street Listing page for additional photos and details. Qualified buyers may contact The Maui Real Estate Team to arrange an exclusive showing.

Among the Very Best of Kuau Bayview

What makes our listing at Kuau Bayview one of the best homes in the neighborhood? It starts with a great location. Located at the very top of the Kuau Bayview, the home is oriented to take advantage of ocean, West Maui Mountain, Kahakuloa and Molokai Views. The home is situated on a quiet street with a cul de sac limiting through traffic. A public park is just a two minute walk away. This home is also a standout due to the thoughtful 600 square foot addition completed by the designer/owner. The addition included a large 4th bedroom, a three sides of glass view office, master bedroom lanai and a kitchen sunroom extension. The lanai and glass view office were both designed to take full advantage of the spectacular views offered from the home. The original flooring in the kitchen and living room was replaced with bamboo giving the home a tropical and casual feel. The original siding was replaced with more durable hardie panel cement siding. The back yard of the home offers ocean views, but still provides privacy due to fencing and mature landscaping. Two storage sheds are great for water sport toys. With the commanding ocean views from the home, you will always know the wind and wave conditions so you can take maximum advantage of your surf, kite, SUP and windsurf gear.

All of the above make this home one of the best in one of the North Shore’s most appealing neighborhoods. In addition to be a short stroll to a park, it takes about ten minutes to walk into Paia town via sidewalk. Paia is known for its great shops and restaurants. You are also within walking distance to beaches at Tavares Bay and Paia Bay. Ho’okipa Beach Park and Baldwin Beach are a short car or bike ride from the neighborhood. The great location is one of the big reasons why Kuau Bayview is one of the Hottest Real Estate Markets on Maui.

This home is offered for $899,000. Check out the listing page for 16 Kaiea Place for additional photos and details on the home. Contact The Maui Real Estate Team to arrange a showing or to discuss the property.

West Maui Mountains in all Their Splendor

Winter weather means that the trade winds are less prevalent. That also means the West Maui Mountains and Haleakala are more apt to be clear of clouds. Here are two different shots of the West Maui Mountains taken from Hookipa and Spreckelsville this week.

Just a little bit of Maui beauty to share with our blog readers on the mainland!

Kuau Bayview Subdivision, Paia

Last Friday, Billy had a buyer close on a home in the Kuau Bayview Neighborhood in Paia. In the last two years, there have been nine closes in this desirable North Shore of Maui subdivision. The Maui Real Estate Team has represented seven of the nine buyers. The map below shows the sales over that period of time with all of the blue pins representing transactions where the Maui Real Estate Team represented the buyer.

Our Kuau Bayview Buyers cite a number of reasons as to why they chose to purchase in the neighborhood.

  • Location. It is tough to beat this location if you want to be near Paia town. You are a five minute walk to all of Paia’s shops and restaurants. Fantastic water sports are close at Ho’okipa Beach Park, Tavares Bay and Paia Bay. Kuau Bayview is also just a fifteen minute drive from the businesses and medical care of Central Maui.
  • Family friendly. There are a lot of kids in this neighborhood. The cul de sacs make for slower street traffic. There is also a park at the top of the subdivision that is a great place to turn the kids loose.
  • Pride of ownership. The neighborhood has consistent pride of ownership. The vast majority of homes and yards are well cared for by their owners. The homes are all less then twenty years old and for the most part are in good condition.
  • Views. Some of the properties in the neighborhood have very good views. To be clear, not all of the properties in the neighborhood are view properties. Those that do have views have nice vistas of the ocean and the West Maui Mountains.
