It was another beautiful weekend on Maui. It felt like the weekend kicked off a little earlier than usual with the county fair starting on Thursday. The weather was great and we basked under the glow of a full moon on Saturday. Here are some pictures that Billy and I snapped this weekend from around the island.

 

Tomorrow marks the start of the 89th annual Maui County Fair. Island residents will flock to Kahului for rides, food, agricultural exhibits, locally produced art, music, entertainment and cooking contests. Here is the fair schedule:

Thursday
4:30 Fair Parade-The parade starts at the Ka’ahumanu entrance of UH Maui College and runs to Maehara Stadium.
5:00-11:00 PM-The gates open at 5:00 and stay open until 11:00 PM for the opening day of the fair.

Friday
10:00 AM -1:30PM Special Fair Day-An opportunity for Maui residents with physical or mental conditions that would preclude them from attending normal operating hours.
5:00-12:00 AM-Conventional operating hours for the fair.

Saturday
10:00 AM-12:00 AM Fair operating hours
10:00 AM-12:00 PM Charity Chili Cook off
10:00 AM-4:00 PM Robo Tech and Lego Competition
10:30 AM Healthy baby competition

Sunday

These are just a few highlights of the many events planned around the fair. Tickets for the Maui County Fair are $7.00 for adults, $3.00 for Keiki aged 5-11 and kids 4 and under are free.
