There is a diverse array of events going on this weekend in Maui although I might say there is a bit of a country flare. The Pro Bull Riding Tour is on Maui tonight and Tomorrow at the War Memorial Stadium in Wailuku. The event starts at 8:00 PM and features a couple of former world champions.
Speaking of world champions, some of the world’s best windsurfers will be just outside of Paia at Ho’okipa this weekend for the Aloha Classic Wave Championship. Wind conditions permitting, they will be starting the pro divisions. The event runs from to 11:00 to 5:00 on Saturday and Sunday.
The Maui Polo Season will be closing out this weekend one mile up Olinda Road from Makawao town. Matches will be held on Sunday afternoon. Maui Polo is more cowboy than country club. It always draws a fun crowd.
Finally, music legends Willie Nelson and the Doobie Brothers will be playing at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center in a benefit for the Maui Montessori School. Gates open at 4:30 with the show starting at 5:30. Willie is still going strong after all these years!
