It is a widely practiced custom to remove your shoes before entering a home in Hawaii. If you are planning on looking at houses or condos in Maui, you may find it easier if you use sandals, flip flops or some sort of other easy to remove shoe. That can be a lot quicker and less complicated than tying and untying your shoe at each and every home you visit. Converesly, more rugged shoes or hiking boots are a good choice if you are looking at vacant parcels of land.
