West Maui Mountains in Full Splendor

Topics

The West Maui Mountains are shrouded in clouds much of the year. When the trade winds hit the West Maui’s moisture builds and clouds start to stack up obscuring the tops of these beautiful mountains. This weather pattern is what makes the highest summits of the West Maui’s one of the wettest places in Hawaii. During the winter months, the trade winds are less prevalent and the spectacular summits are often free of clouds.

This is a view of the West Maui Mountains taken from the North Shore between Paia and Haiku.
