Our friends and neighbors at Wings Hawaii are hosting a summer clearance sale and magazine release event this evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at their store at 71 Baldwin Avenue in Paia. This event has been scheduled for some time, but it takes on particular significance after an unfortunate event on Friday afternoon. A driver coming down Baldwin Avenue lost control of their pick up truck and drove through the front window of their store. Fortunately, there was only one pedestrian that sustained minor injuries due to flying debris. It could have been a lot worse. Friends quickly rallied around the Wings Girls to clean up the store and to cover the gaping hole in their store front. They were open for business the next morning.
While business is open, boarded windows and future construction will likely have an impact on their bottom line. It would be great to see a good turnout at tonight’s sale and for the community to rally around Wings. These local entrepreneurs design and produce all of their clothing and jewelry here on Maui. Clearance items will be discounted between 20 and 75% tonight. They will also be releasing their third issue of Inspire. Inspire is a fashion and lifestyle magazine also put together by the girls. I hope to see some of our North Shore blog readers at Wings tonight!
