The XTERRA triathlon series challenges participants with open water swimming, mountain biking and trail running. It is back on Maui again to host its world championship drawing amateur and professional competitors from all over the world. In addition to being the championship course, the Makena course is known to be the most difficult. Competitors must participate in an open ocean swim, combined with running and biking through hot and tricky lava rock. The XTERRA begins and ends at the Maui Prince Hotel. The start time is set for 9:00 AM tomorrow. Spectators will find their best viewing from this location. Good luck to all the competitors in this rugged event.
